More spot-fixing charges have been laid against former Macarthur Rams skipper Ulises Davila with police now alleging he tried to manipulate games early in 2024 after accusing him of offering teammates $10,000 a yellow card for matches in November and December last year.
The Mexican star, who has since left Macarthur after the bombshell accusations were made last May, was allegedly taking direction from a South American crime figure known as the “controller”.
Former Chelsea player Davila allegedly paid teammates Kearyn Baccus and Clayton Lewis up to $10,000 a yellow card in a betting plot that led to hundreds of thousands of dollars being paid out in overseas winnings, mainly in South America.

Davila also attempted unsuccessfully to swing games on April 20 and May 4, police said last year.
Davila was the only player in the named trio to be handed a yellow card when Macarthur drew 1-1 with Melbourne Victory in round five at Campbelltown Stadium on November 24.
Three weeks later, all three players were among five in the Macarthur side given yellow cards when they prevailed 2-0 over Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on December 9.
On Thursday, NSW Police said Strike Force Beaconview officers had charged Davila with four more spot-fixing charges related to games in 2024 played on January 8, April 20, April 27 and May 4.
Davila is next due in court on April 10.
