Police release images of persons of interest after sickening NRL brawl

Police want to speak to eight people after a sickening fight at a NRL match on Sunday night that left a 21-year-old woman unconscious.
The fight broke out at the end of the Canterbury and Newcastle clash at Accor Stadium.
The woman was taken to hospital, while a 21-year-old male was also assaulted in the fight as he tried to defend the woman.

Police want to speak to four men and four women about the incident on Sunday.





Police have described the people as all in their 20s and all of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance.
The descriptions are as follows:
• A man of medium build, with black hair, black beard, black glasses, wearing a hooded jacket
• A man of large build, with a black beard, no moustache, wearing a black and white hat, light-blue hooded jumper, black pants and black sneakers
• A man of large build, with ear-length black hair, full black beard, wearing black shorts, white shoes, a black and white checkered jacket with a football jersey around his neck
• A man of medium build with black hair faded at the rear, goatee-style beard, wearing a football jersey, black pants and white shoes
• A woman of medium build, wearing a beige headscarf, black glasses, a black football jersey, black pants and a long-sleeved black shirt underneath the jersey
• A woman of medium build, wearing a navy headscarf, black shirt, black pants, black and white sneakers
• A woman of medium build with red hair who was wearing a white football jersey, a football scarf, blue jeans and black shoes
• A woman of small build with mid-length black hair who was wearing a blue football jersey, blue jeans and white shoes
Police are still investigating the fight on Friday night at Accor, where punches were exchanged between a group of more than 10 people, and people were evicted.

No injuries were reported in that brawl but the NRL said that they were working with the venue, security and NSW Police to identify the instigators and take action “through the NRL Spectator Code of Conduct”.
“Anti-social or abusive behaviour at NRL matches will not be tolerated,” a NRL spokesperson said.
A Venues NSW spokesperson also condemned the incident saying “any offenders will be dealt with by police and face bans from attending future events”.
“Venues NSW has a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour and we have in place strong processes to identify, respond to and resolve incidents,” the Venues NSW spokesperson said.
