Day 12 was a historic day in Paris as Australia surged to their best ever gold medal haul at an Olympics, is there more joy to come today?

Follow all the action live.

Women’s 3m springboard

Alysha Koloi and Maddison Keeney in action looking to progress through to the final.

Koloi is in seventh and looks comfortable after her first three dives.

Keeney was in eigth after her second dive and nailed her third to score 70.50 to move into second.

Top 12 go through to the medal event.

Jennekke out of 100m hurdles

She had that fall in her heat yesterday but she’d another chance in the repechage.

But she looked sore as she laboured off the start and looked proppy over the finish line.

She has a smile on her face so perhaps she knew she wasn’t in it.

Minjee Lee has a horror start

She was equal seventh at one under heading into the day but Minjee has had a horror start in round two with a double bogey and bogey in her first two holes.

Heptathlon hurdles

Camryn Newton-Smith takes third in the 100m hurdles in the first event of the seven-day schedule.

That’s a great run from her.

Tori West finished sixth in heat one but ran a personal best.

Johnson speaks

“After the first few laps I knew what I wanted to do,” she tells Nine.

“I tried to lead as much as I could on the last lap because it’s so hard to overtake here given the current and conditions.”

“There’s two options under the bridge and Sharon took the better line to get around me but I honestly couldn’t ask for a better result to get a medal in a marathon swim.

“Thank you to my family and friends back home.”

A great start to Paris day 13.

Here’s how it happened.

SILVER for Johnson

What a great swim but Van Rouwendaal showed all her experience on that final turn to charge away down the home stretch.

A second gold from Van Rouwendaal to become the most successful marathon Olympic swimmer in history.

But take nothing away from Johnson who becomes just the second Australian woman to medal in marathon swimming and second is the best-ever result for an Australian.

Italy’s Ginerva Taddeucci takes bronze.

Van Rouwendaal takes the lead

She chooses the better line into the final term as Johnson stays wide and Johnson is now a body lenght behind the Dutch swimmer.

They’re on the final turn

Johnson has just extended the gap slightly but there’s only a body length in it as they go upstream for the final time.

Come on Johnson!

Marathon swimming

We’re into the final lap of the women’s 10km swim.

As she has done for most of the race Australia’s Moesha Johnson is leading with Rio gold medallist Sharon van Rouwendaal right on her tail.

We’re in for a grandstand finish.
