SHOT!
Jason Day and Min Woo Lee are enjoying a better day on the greens and have each moved up in the standings on day two.
Four holes through, Day is two under par and up four spots into equal 17th while The Chef is enjoying a gloriously different outing shooting four under par through the first six holes to climb nine spots.
Gangurrus go down
It took something special to end the Gangurrus red-hot five win streak, and the Spaniards had the answer.
Spain held on for the 21-17 victory, meaning Australia surrendered top of the ladder, falling to third with one game remaining.
GANGA GANGA GANGA
The Gangurrus are looking to make Spain the latest of their long list of scalps and advance directly through to the semifinals.
Having won their past five matches, the Aussies trail 11-14 with less than five minuts left on the clock.
HORRIFIC SCENES
The swimming program was put on hold for several minutes as medical attention was given to the 21-year-old.
SERIOUS HOPS
Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson flew high, and are in very good form leading up to Monday’s high jump final.
Patterson achieved a season best result and finished tied for first in Group A, while Olyslagers finished top of Group B, the pair each clearing 1.95m.
Aussies in medal mix for mixed medley
Australia have won their heat and qualified second fastest for the mixed 4x100m medley relay final.
Kyle Chalmers took charge in the final leg, thrashing home his freestyle to touch the wall first and book a finals berth for Australia.
Aussies break rowing medal drought
Despite Australia’s dominance in the pool, their efforts on top of the water have been poor as the men failed to defend their fours title finishing last in their A final while the women didn’t even make the medal race after winning gold in Tokyo.
Ledecky lays an early marker
Titmus v Ledecky again but it’s the American the clear winner this time.
She smashed her 800m heat to win comfortably more than three seconds ahead of Titmus who settled for third.
Still, she is comfortably through to the final as the third fastest qualifier with Pallister also going through in fourth.
Pallister’s back!
After being forced out of the 1500m with COVID, Lani Pallister is back in the 800m.
She paced herself at the front of the pack before taking over the lead just before the halfway mark.
And as the laps went on her lead grow, steadily growing towards a second.
However, German Gose mounted a very late charge to finish second.
McKeown through
Kaylee McKeown has managed their fastest in her medley heat.
Her time was ninth fastest which is enough for a semi with Ramsay going through as sixth fastest.
