Three medals for Richo
A silver medal for Matthew Richardson in the men’s keirin caps off a brilliant showing in Paris for the 25-year-old.
Earlier in the Games, he won bronze in the team sprint and was a more than worthy second to Dutch legend Harrie Lavreysen in the individual sprint.
Legend Lauren hails teammates
Legendary basketballer Lauren Jackson claimed her fifth Olympic medal with the Opals’ bronze medal match win over Belgium but she said she should not be the story.
“It’s not about me, it’s about the girls and the team,” she told Channel Nine.
“I just can’t praise them enough and how they (handled) the adversity.”
Silver and bronze in men’s keirin
Matthew Richardson has won silver in the men’s keirin and Matthew Glaetzer has won bronze.
Dutch rider Harrie Lavreysen won the race to claim his third gold of the Games.
There was a huge crash in the final lap between the other three riders.

The Opals have won their bronze medal match with Belgium!
A see-sawing affair saw several lead changes but Australia took command of the contest late to win 85-81.
The medal is the first for Australia’s women basketballers since 2012.

Carrying a foot injury, Steph Talbot has just made a massive play.
She closed out hard and blocked a three-pointer from Belgium which would have tied the scores.
