Michael Schumacher reportedly attends daughter Gina’s wedding in first appearance in 11 years
Formula One legend Michael Schumacher has reportedly been seen by people outside his extremely strict inner-circle for the first time since the fateful ski accident that almost took his life in 2013.
According to a number of European reports, Schumacher attended the ceremony of his daughter Gina’s wedding to Iain Bethke at the weekend in Mallorca.
The nuptials took place at the family’s luxury villa on the Spanish island, which wife Corrina and the family purchased from Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez in 2017.

The Spanish house has been partly converted into a medical sanctuary that can provide hospital-level care around the clock for the seven-time F1 world champion.
His exact condition is unknown, at the will of Corrina, who has kept it notoriously and meticulously private since the accident in the French Alps 11 years ago.
Only an extremely small group of people are allowed to see him and fully understand his medical plight.
Not everyone who was in attendance at the wedding is in that exclusive group of people.
To protect Schumacher’s privacy, it’s understood guests had their phones confiscated at the door to avoid any footage or photos being taken of him at the wedding, and security was hired to further protect him from the possibility of attention from outside the wedding.
The ceremony itself was also said to have been preceded by a party on the Friday during which guests were all told to wear white.
Gina, 27, and Iain have been in a relationship for more than seven years.
“Forever yes to you, yes to forever,” Gina wrote, with a photo from the big day.
Younger brother Mick wrote: “I’m so happy for you two.”
Schumacher’s brother and fellow ex-F1 driver Ralf was at the wedding with his partner Etienne.
“We had a wonderful time in Mallorca, the sunsets and the atmosphere were magical,” the couple wrote.
While Mick followed in the footsteps of his dad and uncle to become a racing driver, Gina entered the world of horse riding.
She regularly competes in shows around the United States and Europe.
Gina shares memories of her father on his birthday each January.
“Happy birthday Papa! Throwback to one of many of our adventures,” she wrote this year, sharing a photo of herself with Mick and Michael before a skydive.
Last year’s post included the trademark hashtag #keepfighting.
