Horse trainer Mick Miller can’t forget how he felt the morning he came across a body in the Karnup pine forest.

“It wasn’t a good feeling with what; it wasn’t a good feeling that’s all,” he said.

Miller, who was living at Karnup, rode his horses through the pines daily.

“That’s why I liked being up there, the pine forest was very good work on their legs through the sand,” he said.

But the path he took on the morning of Tuesday, October 28, 1997 – two weeks after Gerard Ross vanished from Rockingham without a trace – was different.
