Women travelling to Bali are urged to be vigilant after a terrifying sexual assault in broad daylight.

The woman was holidaying in Amed — a village on the island’s east coast — when two men approached her on a motorbike about 9am on Wednesday.

They allegedly groped her and then fled the scene.

The sexual assault was reported to Abang Police Chief Komang Susiawan, who has launched an urgent investigation into the incident.

“One of the two people immediately grabbed the victim’s breast and immediately ran away,” Susiawan said.

Susiawan confirmed CCTV cameras have been installed in locations near the assault to prevent similar incidents happening.

He urged people in the area to be alert to their surroundings.

“We urge residents and tourists to always be alert and immediately report if they experience or see a similar incident,” Susiawan said.

“The safety and comfort of tourists is our priority.”
