Charlotte, North Carolina: Woman attacked by pack of dogs as quiet neighbourhood becomes blood bath
Neighbours who jumped in to help woman being brutally mauled by pack of dogs ended up victims themselves.
A brutal mauling by a pack of dogs has left one person in hospital and three others injured in a quiet neighbourhood of Charlotte, New-Carolina.
The attack happened on the morning of August 26, local outlet WBTV speaking with neighbour Joseph Correa who said he grabbed a shovel when he heard a terrified woman’s screams for help.
“Just hearing her like that just gets me upset about it, because they’re our friends,” he said through tears.

The woman’s condition and extent of her injuries are unknown.
It is understood that seven pit bull-type dogs estimated to be about one-year-old were involved in the horrific attack.
Moments before the screams were heard, a neighbour’s home surveillance camera captured several dogs emerging from a truck, although it is unclear if these were the dogs involved.
Mr Correa said a loved one of the woman helped her inside as he shouted at her to stand up.
“He picked her up and (dragged) her inside,” he said.
“There was blood everywhere.”
Another neighbour, Angela Johnson, was taking out her rubbish when she heard the screams.
After calling 911, the dogs — which she said she’d not seen in the neighbourhood before — turned on her.
“I was yelling, ‘Get away!’,” she said.
“(The dog) grabbed me by my arm, chased me down.”
“I was on the ground...Next thing I know, he’s gnawing at my leg.”
Ms Johnson’s wounds required five stitches and a rabies shot.
A sheriff who was attending another matter on the same street ran to the scene after hearing the screams and attempted to use a taser to stop the attack..
When that failed, they shot and killed one of the dogs.
An investigation into the brutal attack has been launched by local authorities and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control.
The owner of the dog has not yet been located.
“I’m looking to whoever is responsible to hold them accountable,” Ms Johnson said.
“There’s no reason why there should have been seven pit bulls loose in this neighbourhood.”
