The 62-year-old woman was discovered by crew members on Sunday, prompting local authorities to launch an investigation into her death, according to The Sun.
Her body was taken by boat from the cruise ship to the port of Athinios in the early hours of the morning before being transported to the General Hospital of Thira, where she was formally pronounced dead.

The Thira Port Authority has launched a preliminary investigation into the woman’s death and her body will be transferred to the Piraeus Forensic Service for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances, with initial inquiries indicating the woman may have died from a sudden medical episode.
Authorities have not identified the cruise ship but said it sails under the Marshall Islands flag.
