Google, the world’s most popular search engine, was partially down, and people were reportedly unable to view news articles.

Thousands of people from around the globe were reported to be unable to search for news articles on Google just after 8pm WST.

After people took to social media to share their frustrations, the site appeared to resolve the issue by 9.30pm.

General searches on the browser were working, but the Google News tab was not providing any results.

Both the application and online browser appeared to be impacted.

There was a spike in reported outages on the website Down Detector just after 8pm WST.

Google has been contacted for comment.
