Kanakapushpa: Woman stabbed twice by robbers in Stage Syndicate Bank Colony, survives by playing dead

A woman has survived after she was stabbed twice in a brutal home invasion and robbery on Sunday night.
The 65-year-old, identified as Kanakapushpa, was at her home in Stage Syndicate Bank Colony, India, when she heard a knock on her door at about 9.30pm.
She walked up to the door and spoke with a man posing as a delivery person who told her that her son, who was not home at the time, had ordered her food.

The attackers referred to cupboards and almirahs where they believed Rahul kept the valuables, Times of India reported.
During the course of the incident, the men allegedly threatened Kanakapushka, pushed her onto her couch and gagged her mouth.
The woman told the alleged attackers she did not have the keys to open the cupboards and said her son had taken them with him when he left the house earlier that day.
She was then stabbed in the neck with a knife in an attempt to make her speak.
Madiwala, a driver that Rahul had recently fired, then entered the home as well, according to reports.
At that moment, Kanakapushka formed the belief that Madiwala, who was known to her as Maddy, had orchestrated the robbery as revenge for losing his job.
He allegedly pulled the gag from her mouth and told her if she screamed, he would slit her throat, and then demanded she tell him where the key was.
Kanakapushka told him she did not know, and was then gagged again and stabbed a second time by one of the attackers.
While suffering blood loss and extreme pain, the woman started to chant shlokas as her movements slowed and eyes closed before her breathing came to a stop.
She lay completely still as the four men broke into the cupboards and stole the valuables. When they were done, Madiwala asked one of the other men to check if Kanakapushka was dead, and he poked her head.
The woman did not react and the men were convinced she was dead, and left the home.
She then sprung into action, moving to the front door to alert her neighbours, who apprehended one of the men as they were getting away. The other three men have not been captured.
Investigations are underway, but it is not clear if any charges have been laid by police.
