King Charles dons red kilt for visit to Scottish region of Caithness

He may be well in his 70s, but King Charles is still ready to reveal a right royal leg when it comes to fitting in in Scotland.
The 76-year-old monarch rocked a knee length red kilt at a reception for Caithness Communities in Thurso, a Scottish region which Charles has demonstrated a fondness for all his life.
After arriving in Scrabster Harbour, he unveiled a plaque for a nuclear transport vessel after meeting and greeting local sea cadets and volunteers in the area.

Charles also used the visit to meet workers from the nuclear industry as well as Thurso’s local community members.
King Charles appeared to be in high spirits throughout the visit, with his continuing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer failing to slow him down.
However, it also marked the second appearance of the king without his wife, Queen Camilla, by his side after he was also spotted at Church in Norfolk by himself.
