Kristin Cabot has stepped down from her role as head of HR at Astronomer following the recent Coldplay concert controversy.

A spokesperson for Astronomer stated, “Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer — she’s resigned,” according to TMZ.

On July 16, the two were seen in a now-viral video kissing and getting close during the Coldplay concert held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, prompting an internal investigation into workplace behaviour.

“Whoa, look at these two,” the band’s lead singer, Chris Martin, commented cheerfully as the jumbotron showed Byron embracing Cabot from behind.

Upon realising they were being broadcast, Mr Byron quickly ducked out of view, and Ms Cabot covered her face, seemingly embarrassed.

Martin was shocked and called them out by saying, “either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Mr Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, who has since removed his last name from her social media profiles.

Despite the turmoil surrounding Ms Cabot and Mr Byron, Astronomer insists operations will continue as normal.

Pete DeJoy has been appointed interim CEO and is committed to guiding the company through the scandal and emerging stronger.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability,” the company stated in a post on LinkedIn on July 18. The Board of Directors has launched a formal investigation into the matter and promised to provide further updates soon.
