The internet blackout in Iran, which was implemented by the regime after US and Israeli strikes on Saturday, has been going for 120 hours according to the independent internet watchdog NetBlocks.

NetBlocks data suggests connectivity has flatlined at just 1 per cent of ordinary levels.

“An increasingly Orwellian environment is emerging as telcos threaten users who try to connect to the global internet with legal action,” a statement from NetBlocks said.

US will ‘bitterly regret’ strike on Iranian warship, says Foreign Minister

Iranian foreign minister Seyead Abbas Araghchi has declared the US will “come to bitterly regret” the precedent it has set by attacking a warship, which is believed to have killed 87 people.

US Senate blocks bill to limit Donald Trump’s military power

Republicans in the United States Senate have blocked a bill that would have limited President Donald Trump’s power to continue military action against Iran.

Introduced by Democratic senator for Virginia Tim Kaine, the bill would have allowed Congress to have input into President Trump’s decision to enter into war with Iran, which has so far been waged without Congressional approval.

The resolution was voted down 53-47, with votes divided almost completely on party lines.
