An enormous avalanche has struck Europe’s tallest mountain, with horror vision showing people swallowed by the icy powder cloud.

An enormous avalanche has struck at a ski resort on Europe’s tallest mountain, with horror vision showing people swallowed by the icy fall.

Mount Elbrus, Europe’s tallest mountain, experienced an avalanche on Thursday which forced people standing in a carpark to run for their lives.

Horrifying footage was captured of the fall, showing the powder could from the avalanche catapulting down the mountain as people ran for their lives.

As the powder cloud, which is usually made up of fine ice crystals and air, fell, it swallowed the carpark, with footage showing the area becoming completely white.

The video was captured from the Elbrus Resort in Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia.

No deaths have been reported.

Authorities had closed sections of the mountain and shut down the cable car service on January 10 due to fears of an avalanche amid dangerous weather conditions.
