Old comment made by Tina Arena emerges after ex-husband Ralph Carr’s rape conviction
The comment was made on an Instagram post more than six months ago.
A cryptic remark made by singer Tina Arena has resurfaced after her ex husband was exposed as a convicted rapist.
Arena, an ARIA Hall of Fame inductee, was married to high-profile entertainment and sports agent Ralph Carr, 66, between 1995 and their divorce in 1999.
In December, the acclaimed performer commented on a post from Sherele Moody’s Femicide Watch Instagram page, which had shared a news headline about “another high-profile” Victorian accused of rape.

On Monday it emerged that a Victorian County Court jury had found Carr guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault after he attacked a woman at his home in March, 2023.
A suppression order had kept his identity hidden from media reporting connected to the case for almost three years but that was lifted when Carr decided against applying to have it extended.
Carr is set to appeal the guilty verdicts, claiming he is innocent.
Arena is yet to comment on Carr’s conviction or the Instagram comment.

It comes as Arena prepares to launch a documentary about her extraordinary 50-year career in the spotlight at the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 12.
“People think they know me but they don’t really know who I am at all,” she said in a trailer for Unravel Me.
“I know what it’s like to lose everything and to restart again.”
