Parents and staff at Little Munchkins in Hounslow and Montessori Riverside Nursery in Twickenham started to notice bruising and scratches consistently appearing on the children.

Investigators soon linked the children’s injuries to a single staff member, Roksana Lecka.

After multiple concerns were raised, Detectives from the Met Police went through CCTV from the nursery that showed her pinching and scratching children under their clothes on their arms, legs and stomachs.

When the police confronted Lecka, she smiled and calmly tried to downplay her involvement.

In shocking footage, Lecka can be seen in the living room of her home, smirking as officers speak to her before one cop tells her she has been accused of assaulting babies.

She looks at the police officer and calmly responds: “Yeah, I have heard about that”.

Lecka has since been convicted of abusing 21 babies, one of whom she repeatedly kicked in the face. She was also seen to push a baby’s head first over cots and cover a toddler’s mouth when he started to cry.

It was also reported that the nursery worker pinched several children dozens of times in the course of one day, causing them to cry and flinch away from her, the CPS said.

Police reported Lecka was taken into custody after CCTV footage emerged of her abusing the children.

Lecka also admitted seven counts of cruelty to a person under the age of 16 and was found guilty of another 14 by a jury at Kingston Crown Court.

As the investigation progressed, more video footage emerged of the evil nursery worker sitting in her police interview, answering “no comment” to every question. She fails to show any emotion when shown pictures of the injuries she inflicted on the children.

Police said she had abused children at two nurseries between October 2023 and June 2024 - one of the counts related to Little Munchkins in Hounslow, with the remainder linked to the Montessori Riverside Nursery in Twickenham, which has since closed.

Det Sgt Geoff Boye said: “Footage showed Lecka carrying out multiple assaults on the children in her care which included repeatedly pinching and grabbing children, dropping babies into their cots and on one occasion, she delivered several kicks to a young boy to the face and stepped on his shoulder.”

Lecka later admitted to seven counts of child cruelty.

The Mirror reported that it took a jury nine hours and 53 minutes to convict her of 14 of the remaining 17 child cruelty counts, acquitting her of three.

She had told the jury: “I can’t remember the things I was doing because I was smoking cannabis that was affecting my memory.”

Lecka also said she was “addicted” to her vape, saying: “At that time I was really addicted to vapes, I would smoke two little crystal disposables a day.”

“I was vaping in the nursery. Because if I did not smoke I would get agitated and fed up. I couldn’t keep asking to go to the toilet. Any opportunity I would take. I would be really moody and fed up. It would be a couple of puffs and then I’d put it away I would put it in my bra.”

The court heard there were no safeguarding concerns raised about Lecka before she began working at the nursery.

Jurors were shown shocking footage of the 26-year-old kicking a young boy in the face.

The trainers she was wearing at the time were later seized by police.

She admitted the charge, with the court told the child was kicked four times in the face before Lecka stepped on his shoulder and struck him again.

Family members of the victims, sitting in the public gallery, audibly gasped as the video was played. Additional footage showed Lecka pinching the legs, back and underarm of a crying girl, as well as grabbing her hair and squeezing the side of her face.

In another clip, Lecka is seen vaping before snatching a baby from a crib and then pinching and punching the infant. Prosecutors said she appeared to glance at colleagues while carrying out the assaults, as if to check who was watching.
