Meghan Markle’s ‘garden haul’ Instagram post raises eyebrows because it looks too good to be true

Royal fans are questioning the Duchess of Sussex’s latest Instagram post, with some suggesting her picturesque “garden haul” may have come from a store, not her garden.
On Thursday, Meghan Markle shared a photo of the Sussexes’ beagle, Mia, sniffing a basket brimming with fresh produce.
“The unofficial quality inspector of this morning’s garden haul,” she wrote in the caption.

But eagle-eyed followers were quick to point out that many of the vegetables aren’t typically in season for May, Sky News reported.
“She’s so good at gardening, she can grow all things from all seasons at once,” one person commented sarcastically on social media.
Others questioned whether the basket’s contents could realistically be home-grown this time of year.
“Who is harvesting corn in May?” one user asked. “It’s pretty early for squash and peppers, too.”
Another added, “The only place I see all that in season is the grocery store produce section.”
Some also noted the pristine condition of the vegetables, which appeared to be dirt-free.
“I’ve never seen vegetables so clean after harvesting,” one user said, while another simply wrote, “No dirt?”
However, it appears the Instagram post has since been updated, with captions now disabled, removing the original text that accompanied the photo.
According to the California Farmland Trust, sweet corn typically isn’t harvested until June through October. Broccoli season peaks earlier in the year, from January to March.
While spring onions and certain varieties of squash and peppers may be harvested in May, some users remain sceptical.
The Instagram post comes amid Meghan’s renewed media push following her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, her short-lived podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, and her lifestyle brand As Ever (formerly American Riviera Orchard), which launched briefly with a jam that reportedly “sold out” in minutes.
