Terrifying moment toddler hangs on for life out of window

Onlookers on a busy high street have captured the terrifying moment a toddler was left hanging on for life after climbing out of a window.

The video, which has garnered massive attention online, shows the young child dangling from a second-story window on a busy shopping strip, meters from passing double decker buses in East London.

Crowds gathered in horror, attempting to yell instructions to those trying desperately to help the child, fearing the toddler could fall to her death from the Ilford home.

A woman was seen climbing from a window on the floor below, putting her hands out in attempt to catch the toddler if she fell.

Emergency services rushed to the situation, with a police officer quickly climbing onto an awning, also attempting to catch the toddler.

“Hurry up!” one onlooker yelled as they feared for the young girl’s life.

One woman who appeared to know the child called out to her, using her name.

“The baby has come down, out the window!” another shocked person said.

The toddler, who appeared to grow weak from hanging on, started to move as a policeman and another man waited underneath the window, a floor below.

Then, the little girl let go.

Gasps and screams could be heard from the crowd as they watched on in horror.

As the young girl fell, both men reached out for her.

One of the men, who was shirtless after presumably rushing out in panic, managed to grip onto the toddler’s foot.

However, as he grabbed her, she flipped around onto his back in a moment that brought panic to onlookers.

Luckily, the man kept his hold on the girl’s foot, preventing her from falling to street level in an incident that may have claimed her life.

“Well done!” one person yelled out.

However, relief quickly turned to concern, with bystanders yelling for the parents to answer questions.

“What’s the matter with these people? Why is the baby out of the bloody window?” one man yelled.

“Where’s the mum?” another shouted.

The girl was quickly taken inside, with officers following, likely to ask the parents some serious questions.
