The man was caught on CCTV terrorising a female runner.

A woman has been left traumatised after a man in a mask terrorised her while she was running.

On August 12, while out for an early run with a friend in Philadelphia, United States, Luanda Marinho came face-to-face with a man wearing a Chucky-style mask just after 5am.

“I just want to run in peace. It’s not much to ask,” she told local outlet WPVI-TV.

“I was definitely scared because it’s not normal for someone wearing a mask at that time of the day.”

“He’s like ‘wanna race me? But I’m faster than you guys. Let’s race.’

“He sounded very young.”

Police in Philadelphia said the man allegedly harassed several others on the same morning, around 5.30am, including a 40-year-old jogger.

Police captain Jason Smith said the man allegedly filmed the encounters.

“He’s holding his cell phone up in front of her at which time he asks her, ‘are you ready to die?’,” he said.

The suspect has been described by the police as a black male aged between 16 and 20.

They said he was about 5’8” and of a thin build with black hair.

He was wearing a “white baby doll style Halloween mask” and was carrying a black and blue plaid backpack.

The man also visited a donut shop but was refused service because of the mask.

While inside the store, a woman identified only as Jameka said she screamed at the man and kicked him in the chest.

“I didn’t want him to harm anyone else on my way, and because he just seemed so disoriented about what his goals actually were,” she said.

“I was like OK, well, let’s see if you could fight and he couldn’t.”

The man remains on the run but, according to investigators, once found he will face several charges including terroristic threats, harassment, and assault.
