Belconnen: Several ‘dangerous’ pipe bombs located on public footpaths in Canberra

Several “dangerous” explosive devices have been discovered in the nation’s capital, with police issuing a community safety alert to Canberrans.
Since Tuesday, police have responded to reports of multiple pipe bombs that were located on public footpaths near Lake Gininderra between Joynton Smith Drive and Ginninderra Drive in Belconnen.
“ACT Policing is warning the community of dangerous pipe bombs which have been located on public paths in Belconnen this week,” a police spokesperson said.

Images released by ACT Policing show silver pipe-shaped objects lying on the ground outdoors. They have screw tops and can fit in a person’s hand.
Anyone who comes across a pipe bomb should not touch it and immediately contact Triple Zero.
