Driver dies in Gold Coast crash involving allegedly stolen car and parked vehicles

The car veered off the road and smashed into the vehicles before crashing into a fence.

A man has been killed as an allegedly stolen car crashed into two parked cars on the Gold Coast on Sunday.

A white Suzuki SX4 S-Cross with stolen registration plates was driving south on Dixon St in Coolangatta just before 5am when it veered off the road and crashed into two parked vehicles.

The Suzuki then smashed into the fence of a home near Staplyton St.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, died at the scene.

Police say the car was reported stolen from a Bilinga address on January 21 and the registration plates were reported stolen sometime before the incident.

“Forensic Crash Unit investigations remain ongoing,” Queensland Police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any CCTV or dashcam of the car is urged to contact police.
