A hoon has damaged cars parked outside a Victorian cemetery by doing burnouts and flicking up rocks during a funeral service.

The driver was behind the wheel of a grey Holden VE SS Commodore Station Wagon when it started began moving erratically outside Horsham Cemetery on Wawunna Rd in Horsham at 2.55pm last Monday.

The driver then did burnouts on Davis Dr where there were a number of cars parked and a funeral service taking place.

The car left the road during the burnouts, which caused large rocks to be flicked up at the parked vehicles, damaging them.

Witnesses told police a woman was inside one of the cars at the time when the rocks smashed the back window.

She was not physically injured, but when the Commodore driver was confronted by car owners he refused to hand over his details and fled the scene.

On Friday, police released a photo of the car and a man they believe can assist with their inquiries .

He is described as of a medium build with short brown hair and a short beard, and was wearing all black at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
