Empire Bay fatality: Woman in her 20s dies, another fighting for her life after head-on crash
A woman has died and another is fighting for her life in hospital following a head-on collision on Friday night.
Police were called to Empire Bay Road in Empire Bay just after 8.30pm after reports of two vehicles colliding while travelling in opposite directions.
Officers from Brisbane Water Police District confirmed that one of the drivers, a woman believed to be in her 20s, died at the scene.

The second vehicle veered off the road, coming to a stop down an embankment.
The driver, a woman in her 30s, was trapped for a short period before being rescued by Fire & Rescue NSW.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene and transported to the hospital in serious condition.
A crime scene has been established as investigators work to determine the circumstances leading to the fatal crash.
