Food recall: Mt Ossa Australian Spring Water - 10 litre boxes pulled from shelves due to mould contamination

Boxes of water have been pulled from the shelves over fears of mould contamination.

Tasmanian Mountain Waters Exp has recalled its Mt Ossa Australian Spring Water bottles dated best before June 15, 2028, which were being sold at Woolworths in NSW and Queensland.

Food Standards Australia said the product was pulled from supermarket shelves over fears of mould contamination, which they say “may cause illness” if consumed.

“Consumers should not eat this product,” a statement on the Food Standards Australia website said.

“Consumers should return product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”

It comes after another popular beverage was recalled earlier this month because of mould contamination.

The affected bottles were the one litre bottles of Summer Snow - Pink Lady Apple Juice with the best before date of March 12, 2027 and March 8, 2027. The beverages were sold at Farmer’s Pick in Victoria.

The two litre bottles of Summer Snow - Granny Smith Apple Juice with a best before date of March 29, 2027, sold at independent food retailers, including IGA, were also recalled.

A well-known snack was also pulled this month from from major and independent supermarkets across Australia after rubber was found in the product.

Various sizes of Snackbrands Australia Chickadees were recalled after Food Standards Australia and New Zealand.

The snack was available for sale in-store and online at Woolworths and Coles across Australia.

It was also being sold at convenience stores and independent retailers, including IGA.
