Yana Armstrong, a 30-year-old woman, has been missing for two days, prompting an extensive search operation by police and SES crews across five locations in bushland areas including Black Gully.

Efforts to find a missing mother have ramped up as the search enters its third day.

Queensland Police said Jana Armstrong was reported missing on July 8.

Her last sighting was at an address on Gordon Avenue in Newtown, Toowoomba on the afternoon of July 7.

Her car, a white Hyundai Kona, was found about 6am on July 8 parked on the corner of Gordon Avenue and Jellicoe Street.

It is understood the road has since been partially closed.

Police have been joined by the SES.

The 30-year-old, who gave birth only four months ago, is described as being 165cm tall, with an average build, blue eyes, a fair complexion, and brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a green and white striped Country Road shirt, jeans, and thongs.

Her family told police the disappearance was out of character and have grave fears for her welfare.

The Toowoomba Chronicle reported that Ms Armstrong’s sister issued an appeal on Thursday afternoon, begging for assistance.

“I am extremely concerned for her welfare,” she said.

“I’ve had a lot of people asking for more information and where (her son) is – I know have (him) and he is safe.

“Please if you know anything reach out.”

Neighbours told The Chronicle the nearby streets and parkland of Black Gully Reserve were searched.

It is understood five locations around the area were being searched.

Another neighbour said that a car was captured on their street-facing security camera about 10 times between 4am and 5am on July 8 on Gordon Avenue.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
