Kalkarindji: Eight-year-old child killed, 10 other injured from crash in the Northern Territory
A child has died and 10 other people have been injured in a tragic car accident in the Northern Territory.
A Toyota Prado carrying 11 people crashed on Mardiyardu Rd, between Kalkarindji and Lajamanu in the state’s north, just before 11am on Sunday.
NT Police said the car was driven back into Kalkarindji where it was met by a CareFlight team.

Ten other people, including a 29-year-old woman who was allegedly driving, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Musgrave said alcohol was allegedly involved in the accident.
“Communications from the scene was limited due to the remote location of the crash and Major Crash Investigators are currently on-site at both scenes,” he said on Monday.
“This is a complex crash involving alcohol and a large number of unrestrained passengers that has tragically resulted in the death of a young child.”
“Local police are providing support to the families and local communities affected.”
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
Musgrave urged anyone with information to contact police.
