Man, 26, critical as Lancer crash on Bruce Hwy forces truck over train track at Raglan, central QLD

A 26-year-old man in a critical condition is among three people injured in a car and truck crash on the Bruce Hwy at Raglan, near Rockhampton.

A young man is fighting for his life after his car and a truck crashed on the Bruce Hwy in central Queensland.

The 26-year-old man suffered “multiple life-threatening injuries” when his Mitsubishi Lancer crashed with the truck at Raglan, between Rockhampton and Gladstone, about 3am on Friday, paramedics said.

He was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition.

His passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital with stomach pain, while a 38-year-old man behind the wheel of the truck suffered back injuries.

The Lancer was destroyed in the crash, according to a police spokeswoman.

The crash also forced the truck onto train tracks, stopping trains in both directions.

The Bruce Hwy was closed in both directions in the area for several hours but has since been reopened.

Forensic crash experts are investigating.
