“Motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

Police have referred to the crash as a “significant loss of life”.

“(It) will have a devastating impact on the families involved as well as our first responders,” Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Musgrave said.

“More information will be released as it becomes available.”

Musgrave urged anyone with relevant information, particularly footage from the area, to contact police.
