Bateman’s Bay: Police officer charged after allegedly assaulting three teenage girls in shopping centre

A police officer on the South Coast of NSW has been charged and will appear in court after an alleged assault involving three teenage girls and a woman in a shopping centre.

The police officer has been charged over the alleged assault of the woman and three teens while on duty in Bateman’s Bay last year.

On Sunday October 29, 2023, police attended an incident at a Batemans Bay shopping centre when an officer – a senior constable attached to the southern region – allegedly assaulted three teenage girls – two aged 13 and one aged 17 – and a 49-year-old woman.

Following an investigation, the 37-year-old officer was issued a court attendance notice on Thursday for four counts of common assault.

He will appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday November 25, 2024.

The officer is currently suspended with pay.
