Blacktown shooting: Man shot several times, two arrested after police pursuit in Sydney’s West

A man has been shot several times on a quiet residential street in Sydney’s west, with two people taken into custody after a police pursuit.
The incident unfolded around midday on Carinya Street in Blacktown, where the victim was treated by specialist paramedics at the scene.
Police allege two people fled after the shooting, sparking a brief pursuit before they were arrested a short time later.

“There is a large emergency services presence in the area, with police establishing a perimeter.
“There is no threat to the public however, the community is urged to avoid the area.”
The attack comes amid a string of recent daylight shootings across Sydney.
