‘Seek shelter now’: Burrill Lake flooding
Significant rainfall has caused extreme rises on Burrill Lake in NSW’s South Coast with both the north and south side experiencing “dangerous flooding”.
Some areas around the lake have copped more than 200mm of rain so far.
The NSW SES is advising people in low lying areas of the lake to shelter now.
Around 200 properties are currently impacted by flooding in the area.
‘Worsening weather’ expected: NSW SES
The SES has warned overnight that “worsening weather” is expected as they respond to 23 active warnings across the state.
“With rain continuing to move south along the NSW coast, worsening weather is expected tonight, bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds,” the SES wrote on X.
“In the past 24 hours, 1,314 incidents have been reported, including 2 flood rescues and 23 active warnings remain across the state.”
