Glenmore Park: Police raid recovers 13 stolen firearms as man and teen charged
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with firearm offences after police swooped on a property and discovered a raft of stolen weapons in Sydney’s western suburbs.
Two people will face court on Thursday after 13 firearms were recovered from the home in Glenmore Park.
In August 2024, officers from the proactive crime team at Mount Druitt Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged firearms theft in the Lethbridge Park area.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 45-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy about 7.50am on Wednesday, recovering 13 firearms, ammunition, and plants alleged to be cannabis leaf.
The pair were taken to Penrith police station where the man was charged with 22 offences including:
- Cultivate cannabis (more than indictable and less than commercial quantity)
- Possess more than three unregistered firearms without licence/permit
- Possess unregistered firearm-pistol (three counts)
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm (three counts)
- Acquire firearm part without authority to do so (four counts)
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Possess prohibited drug
- Not keep firearm safety-pistol (three counts)
- Not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm (three counts)
- Not keep firearm safely – not pistol/prohibited firearm, and
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Thursday.
The 17-year-old boy was charged with three offences including:
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
He was also refused bail to appear in a children’s court later today.
Inquiries are continuing into the whereabouts of the remaining firearms.
