Greenacre: Man seriously injured following violent home invasion in Sydney’s southwest

A man has suffered severe injuries following an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s southwest on Saturday.

A man has been seriously injured in an alleged home invasion in Sydney’s southwest overnight.

Four men armed with bladed weapons forced their way into a home on Banksia Road in Greenacre early on Saturday morning, assaulting a 23-year-old man and demanding cash.

Paramedics and police were called about 2am and found the man with severe injuries to his left arm. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police said the offenders left in a dark-coloured SUV.

Four other people inside the home – a man and woman in their 40s and two males aged 16 and 19 – were uninjured.

Police have established a crime scene and investigations are continuing.
