A man has died following a workplace incident at a warehouse in NSW’s Hunter Region.

Emergency services were called to Heather St at Heatherbrae, in the Port Stephens area, about 1.50pm on Wednesday after the man — believed to be in his 30s — was seriously injured.

Despite the desperate efforts of paramedics, he could not be revived.

He is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and police have launched an investigation.

SafeWork NSW has also been notified.

“SafeWork NSW inspectors are on site and are making enquiries,” a spokesperson said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The tragedy comes just two days after another workplace death in NSW.

A 57-year-old truck driver was working at Menzies Aviation’s Matraville warehouse in Sydney’s eastern suburbs when he was fatally struck by a forklift on early Monday morning.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he suffered critical chest injuries and could not be saved.

A Menzies Aviation spokesperson said the company was still trying to determine how the incident occurred, and the company is working with NSW Police and Safework NSW as investigations continue.
