A manhunt is underway for the identical twin brother of a depraved cleaner convicted of the brutal rape and murder of a school teacher.

NSW Police have issued a public appeal to help track down Marcus Stanford, 34, who is wanted over assault related offences.

His brother, Vincent, attacked and killed drama teacher Stephanie Scott at Leeton High School on Easter Sunday in 2015, while she was alone in a classroom preparing lessons for students before heading off on holidays to marry her childhood sweetheart.
