Northern Beaches: Man to face Manly court charged with alleged historic rape of teenage girls in 70s

A man has been ordered to face court over alleged child sex offences committed almost 50 years ago.
In a statement issued early on Wednesday morning, NSW police said detectives from the Northern Beaches police area command has in 2023 commenced an investigation into the allegations.
It will be alleged in court that the man sexually assaulted the teenagers, who were both aged 13 and known to him. The alleged assault occurred on separate occasions between 1976 and 1977 at a Collaroy address.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The police statement read, “Following extensive inquiries on Wednesday, 30 July 2025, a 74-year-old man was served with a Future Service Court Attendance notice at a home in Kurri Kurri.”
The man was charged with five counts of rape and commit act of indecency on a female under the age of 16.
He will appear at Manly Local Court on September 17.
