Punchbowl: Incredible footage after man runs from alleged firebombing car infernos in Sydney
Police have obtained incredible footage of the moment and man runs from the scene as a car explodes in flame and causes a chain reaction of fireballs on a Sydney suburban street.
Emergency services were called to to street in Punchbowl after calls from residents reported a string of fires engulfing cars on Kensington Road.
One car, a BMW, was the initial fire source which then set other vehicles alight around 3am on Friday morning before NSW Fire & Rescue arrived to extinguish the fires..

“There is someone who looks to be wearing a white hoody that can be seen running from this location where the car went up in flames,” Tapper said.
“Now as you can see, it it has been completely torched. As a result, six other cars along this street have been destroyed or very badly damaged as a result. Also petrol can be seen running down the gutter.
“Police will now be investigating whether that was used as the accelerant. They are also investigating just who may be that person in the white hoody and why this BMW was targeted.
“We do know it belongs to someone who lives here on this street. So now, this investigation is now questioning why this BMW was the target of this attack.”
