“Another dangerous thunderstorm outbreak is on the cards for eastern and southeastern Australia from this weekend into next week, with parts of NSW and Victoria also forecast to see large daily rainfall totals,” she said.

“This unstable atmosphere is likely to generate some severe thunderstorms, with heavy rainfall and damaging winds the main risks on Sunday and Monday,” Madden said.
“The cold front and associated thunderstorm activity is also expected to bring significant rainfall to the northern ranges in Victoria and southeastern NSW.”
More than 100mm of rain could fall in these areas over the next few days, with a risk of flash flooding on Sunday.
“While rain will ease on Monday, thunderstorm activity will continue across parts of NSW and Queensland early next week,” Madden said.
On Sunday and Monday, Sydney faces the prospect of showers and the chance of thunderstorms, before the wet weather eases on Tuesday, the BOM forecast.
And despite a top of 34C expected in Melbourne on Saturday, the west weather will return on Sunday with showers and the chance of a thunderstorm, before easing on Monday.
Meanwhile, in Brisbane, Saturday’s showers will ease on Sunday for a mostly sunny day before returning on Monday, with the chance of a thunderstorm.
The forecast signals little reprieve for large areas of NSW and QLD which were battered with rain and storms over the past week.
Thousands of revellers were forced to flee a concert for shelter while there were blackouts and multiple flood rescues elsewhere as thunderstorms smashed large swathes of southeast Queensland last weekend.
Three people were rescued in flash flooding events on Sunday night, while over 9000 properties were affected by blackouts.
A severe storm warning was again issued on Wednesday morning for southeast Queensland and northeast NSW.
As the wild weather continues residents have been urged to monitor their state-based SES and emergency services social media pages for updates.
Severe weather forecast for WA
The country’s west has not been spared from the wild weather, with a severe weather warning issued for parts of WA on Friday.
The warning was in place for people in parts of the Goldfields, Eucla, and South Interior districts.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, showers and storms in the north and east are possible, and could become severe over the Interior and eastern Pilbara/Gascoyne.
