Residents terrified after Merrylands home sprayed with bullets and cars set alight in South Granville

Police have had their work cut out after a chaotic night saw a home peppered with bullets and three cars set on fire in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Investigations have begun after the shooting in the early hours of Saturday morning with multiple shots fired int0 a suburban residence.

At about 3.25am police were called to Crossland Street, Merrylands, following reports that multiple shots had been fired into the home.

A crime scene was established and there were no reports of injuries commenced enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident, however a short time later, police were called to Chiswick Street, South Granville, following reports of a car fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and located three vehicles alight and worked to extinguish the blaze, however the vehicles were destroyed.

Police established a second crime scene at that location and the vehicles will be forensically examined by specialist police with investigators saying they believe “the two incidents are linked”.
