A man named in a search warrant executed by police investigating a plot involving a caravan laden with explosives seemingly intended for Jewish targets has been charged over separate anti-Semitic attacks.

Scott Marshall and his partner Tammie Farrugia were reported to be on the “periphery” of the police investigation into the caravan that was discovered by the side of the road in Dural, a rural suburb of Sydney, on January 19.

The couple has not been charged in relation to the abandoned caravan, which was filled with mining explosives, a note with the addresses of a Sydney synagogue and other Jewish buildings, and a note that read “f..k the Jews”.

Meanwhile, an investigation into a spate of anti-Semitic attacks in Sydney’s east has stepped up after police linked the incidents and identified two men of interest.

Hateful graffiti was sprayed on a school in Maroubra and at a shopping centre in Eastgardens, while two homes were also targeted last month.

NSW Police believe all the incidents are linked.

They want to speak to two men seen in CCTV footage in a white SUV in the vicinity of the attacks.
