An infant who went missing in NSW has been found safe on Friday morning.

Police had urgently sought public assistance after the seven-month-old boy, last seen in Warrawong in the Illawarra region south of Sydney, was reported missing.

Police were notified of his disappearance on Thursday when the baby boy couldn’t be found and started an immediate search.

Police originally said they held “serious concerns for River’s wellbeing due to his age”.

The baby was found with a 43-year-old woman.

Police said they “would like to thank the public and media for their assistance”.
