During the check, police located and seized multiple types of ammunition throughout the home, a pistol magazine in a bum bag, two shampoo bottles filled with GHB and a small container of methylamphetamine.

All items were seized for forensic examination.

Police arrested a 49-year-old man – and alleged member of an OMCG (outlaw motorcycle gang) – before taking him to Bankstown Police Station.

He was charged with three counts of a firearm found at premises subject to a prohibition order and acquired pistol part subject to a prohibition order.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court yesterday where he was further refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 11 September 2024.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Koutsoufis, Commander of Raptor Squad, said police will continue to put pressure on criminals who think they can conceal these dangerous weapons that cause chaos on Sydney’s streets.

“We have a long list of people who shouldn’t have firearms in this state, and we intend to check in on as many as we can to make sure they are following the law.

“Those who don’t, expect Raptor Squad officers at your door any day, because we fully intend to keep this state safe from your violence.” Det Supt Koutsoufis said.

Investigations continue. Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000.
