Viewers have been left stunned after a viral video exposed the shocking condition of a Sydney home on Monday.

The house was filled with rubbish piled to the ceiling, with every surface covered in waste.

As soon as the door opens, the extent of the mess becomes clear — trash is scattered across floors, tables, and sofas.

Even the piano and space beneath the bed are buried under debris, leaving barely any room to step.

The kitchen is no exception, with waste covering the floors, counters, and even filling the fridge. The bathtub tells a similar story.

One of the most shocking sights is a room overflowing with aluminum cans, stacked so high they nearly reach the ceiling.

The sheer volume has made it impossible to fully open the door, forcing the person filming the video to kick it down.

Amid the chaos, signs of life remain. A fridge is still running, despite being filled with rubbish, and family photos hang on the walls, offering a haunting contrast to the overwhelming disorder.

Nathan Stafford, the man behind the camera, called this his “biggest cleanup ever”.

“This place has been trashed and I’m going to help this family out,” Stafford wrote on social media.

Known for assisting vulnerable groups, Stafford offers his help free of charge.

“For me it’s about helping people in the community.” Stafford told 7NEWS in a previous interview.

Meet the Sydney mower Nathan Stafford who's turning rundown gardens into the best on the block, for free.

This time, he was contacted last week to help to “clean it up and get it somewhat presentable” before the house is listed for sale, all at no cost to the family.

In the video, Stafford explained that the house belonged to a grandmother who died in a nursing home not long ago.

She had three children, not all of whom lived locally or saw eye to eye. One of her grandchildren had been living in the house for a few months, until a real estate agent discovered the home’s condition and told them they had to move out.

“It’s sad how this place has been left. A lot of memories for this grandma,” Stafford said.

“I’ve seen a lot of things in my life, but this one is definitely another level.”

Viewers on social media have been left shocked by the footage.

“How could a house get like that!!!” one comment reads.

“Sorry but that is disgusting. No excuse to live in that,” another said.

“Poor grandma will be turning over in her grave!!”

“I’m a cleaner but my mind and stomach wouldn’t handle that situation too well I’m afraid.“

“Where do you even start….”

Some viewers even began speculating about how much money the massive pile of cans could fetch through recycling.

In response, Stafford said: “All money from the cans is being donated to my favourite charity: the heart centre for kids at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.”

Updating followers on Tuesday, Stafford shared that he spent six hours cleaning the house on Monday and plans to continue the cleanup on Wednesday after a work trip to Melbourne.
