Wetherill Park shooting: Crime scene established after man suffers wounds to leg and hand

Police are trying to piece together the circumstances after a man was shot and suffered wounds to various parts of his body.

At about 3.30am on Friday, emergency services were called to Lily Street at Wetherill Park, after reports the man had been shot.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and discovered a man, believed in his 30s, had received gunshot wounds to the leg and hand.

He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

As investigations continue, anyone with information is asked to call Fairfield Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
