Woman suffers serious facial injuries in dog attack in Sydney’s inner west

A woman has suffered significant facial injuries when she was mauled by a dog in Sydney’s inner west.

The 47-year-old was attacked by her dog at a home on Edith St, Leichhardt about 12.20am on Wednesday.

She was treated for significant facial injuries, with paramedics seen covering the lower part of her face with a towel.

Paramedics also bandaged her arm — which appeared to have a significant gash — before putting the woman in the back of the ambulance.

The woman’s pants were covered in blood.

NSW Police said the woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

“The incident has been reported to the local council, who have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident,” police said.
