Bones found on property at Booubyjan, QLD, may be those of missing flood victim Krystal Cain
Human remains found on a Queensland property could be those of a girl who went missing in floodwaters more than two years ago, police believe.
Police have told Krystal Cain’s family of the discovery of the bones at the property at Booubyjan, west of Gympie, over the weekend, her father Lenny told local media.
Forensic testing is underway to confirm the identity, while police search for more of the remains in the area.

Lenny was found by rescue crews about two hours after abandoning the car.
He told emergency crews he did not know his daughter’s whereabouts.
The pair had been on their way to visit grandparents when they were caught in the flood.
Lenny suffered a chest infection from being in the water for so long and had a heart attack from the stress of the ordeal.
For two weeks, emergency services searched for Krystal on the ground and from the air but could not find her.
The search was eventually abandoned.
“When you first meet her she’s super quiet and then, when she opens up, you are in this envelope of warmth,” Aundreaou Cain told 7NEWS of her niece Krystal.
“She’s outgoing, she’s fun-loving and has a smile that lights up a room.”
Police on Tuesday said “several bones” were found by a member of the public.
“Forensic investigations have confirmed the bones are human,” police said.
“The search and recovery of remains by forensic officers is ongoing and may continue for several days.
“Further forensic examinations are being conducted with a view of identifying the human remains.
“No further information can be released at this time.”
