Truck driver charged after boy, woman killed in three-vehicle crash on Queensland highway
A truck driver has been charged after two people were killed, and four others injured, in a three-vehicle crash that shut down a major highway near Gladstone, northwest of Brisbane.
A semi-trailer was driving south on Bruce Hwy, near the intersection of Raglan Station Rd, Raglan, when it hit one ute and sent it flying into the ute ahead of it just after 11pm on Tuesday.
A 13-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman travelling in a white Nissan Navara were declared dead at the scene.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The 42-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old passenger in the same car were transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The driver and passenger in a Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries and were taken to Gladstone Hospital.
A 30-year-old Kingston man has now been charged over the crash, police said.
“Police will allege that shortly after 11pm, a white Nissan Navara was travelling south along the Bruce Hwy when the Navara slowed down behind a Toyota Hilux due to a wide load.
“A prime mover truck has failed to slow down and crashed into the Nissan Navara forcing it into the Hilux.”
The truck driver has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear before Gladstone Magistrates Court on December 9.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
