Jandowae Creek: Residents on alert after dam spillway burst banks and floodwaters surge in Queensland

Residents have been warned to prepare for evacuation after a dam burst its banks and flood waters spilled over in rural Queensland.

An Emergency Alert Watch and Act has been issued to Jandowae Creek from the Western Down Regional Council area.

Local Council has advised that the Jandowae Dam spillway has exceeded the moderate flood level of 0.5m and flooding is occurring in the area.

Residents have been urged to “prepare now” and stay up to date with the latest warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology via bom.gov.au/.
